The WILL - 4 Ways To Show Yourself Compassion

 

Sisters,

We are feeling all the range of emotions over here and it is changing on the daily. Without my tool box it would be even more volatile. So today, I am sharing 4 ways to show up yourself compassion so you can show up and serve everyone in your life. We always practice compassion, grace and ease in the WILL mastermind but now it's even more important. 

1. Give yourself some love

I woke up this morning and thought, "what would feel luxurious right now?".

That is not a question I used to ever ask myself.

I used to think about my to-do lists and production. How could I get the most done even if it was supposed to be relaxing. I wanted to check all the boxes. I won't lie it still feels good to throw away a checked off list but the difference is that I show compassion for myself if I don't get ALL THE THINGS DONE. 

The GAME CHANGER?

I prioritize WELL-BEING. 

Before I go to bed at night, I no longer think about all that I did or did not accomplish. 

I reflect on how compassionate I was with myself...did I nourish my body? Did I take 3 conscious breaths?

Did I prioritize my health, move, meditate and connect with people that I love?

Did kiss my husband and children enough? Was I present when they were speaking?

Was I nice to myself?

So this morning, after lying in bed (BED-itating :)), I decided I wanted to take a nice long shower and then give myself a a nourishing body massage with essential oils, shea butter and almond oil. I gave myself love this morning. I massaged my tender feet and moisturized by dry elbows. Most importantly, I took my time, really paying attention to how all the parts of my body were feeling. 

As a conscious feminine leader, not only am I showing up for myself but also I am role modeling for my daughter (show don't tell). It feels good all around sister!

2. Go for a walk, stretch or move your body

Physically moving our bodies is one of the best ways to chemically and hormonally change our mood and it's one of the ultimate forms of self-care.

Prioritizing time for you whether you have kiddos or not is super important.

When I don't make time to do move my body, I not only feel lethargic but energetically and emotional feel the difference.

This is especially important now that many of us are working from home.

Sister, I don't know how I was functioning in the office and not making time for walks through out the day!

4. Give yourself permission to feel 

It's hard to know if what you are feeling is yours or if your feeling stuff from the collective.

It can be hard to untangle everything and not judge yourself for whatever is coming up for you.

I found myself excusing and minimizing my feelings because I knew that there are bigger problems going on in the world.

Here's the thing sister, there may always be someone worse off than you. What matters most is giving yourself the compassion to feel whatever is coming up (see point #1 ;)) no matter what is happening around you. The most important thing though is not to stay there too long. Allow the feelings to move through you without dwelling on them for too long.

Here is simple 5 min meditation that helps me get back to neutral ground when I am feeling a bit off balance and need to come back to center. 

The Neutral Mind lives for the touch of vastness. It lets all other thoughts be without disturbance to your constant inner light. The Neutral Mind opens the gate to that deep remembrance of the self and soul.

Posture: Sit in easy pose with the spine straight. Put both hands in the lap with the palms facing up. Rest the right hand in the left. The thumb tips may touch or not.

Eyes and Mental Focus: Remove all tension from every part of the body. Sit straight by achieving a balance. Close the eyes. Imagine seeing yourself sitting peacefully and full of radiance. Then gradually let your energy collect like a flow at the brow point.

Breath: Let the breath regulate itself into a meditative slow, almost suspended, manner.

Mantra: Concentrate without effort at that point and mentally vibrate in a simple monotone, as if chopping the sound, projecting each syllable distinctly:

Wha-hay gu-roo (Infinity identity from darkness to light)

Call on the higher self and keep going steadily through all barriers. Let go and let God.

Time: Practice this meditation for 5 to 31 minutes at a session.
